Barcelona take on Zaragoza tomorrow night hoping to make it three home wins in week. The only change to Barça’s squad for the match is the introduction of Santi Ezquerro in place of Eidur Gudjohnsen. Ronaldinho is still out injured, but this afternoon he did undergo a fitness test at Camp Nou, the results of the test have not been given by the club.Barça will probably start with the same eleven that started on Saturday unless Frank Rijkaard decides to play Giovani dos Santos after his fine performance as substitute against Sevilla.
Zaragoza won their first game of the season on Saturday beating Osasuna 2-1 in La Romareda but have yet to win away from home. The backbone of their team is made up of three Argentinians, Roberto Ayala was signed from Villarreal to replace Gabi Milito at centre half, The talented Pablo Aimar will be difficult to control in midfield, and Diego Milito will play up front where there will be a fascinating battle against his brother Gabi. Brazilians Matuzalem and Ricardo Oliveira will also need watching as both have already scored this season.
Last season’s game saw a 3-1 victory for Barça with two goals from Ronaldinho and one from Saviola. Zaragoza did however win 0-1 at Camp Nou in the cup, a victory which Barça later overturned by winning 1-2 in the second leg in Zaragoza.
Barça squad for the game is: Valdés, Jorquera, Henry, Xavi, Zambrotta, Iniesta, Abidal, Oleguer, Márquez, Deco, Touré, Thuram, Sylvinho, Milito, Messi, Ezquerro, Giovani, Bojan.
Possible starting XI: Valdés; Zambrotta, Marquez, Milito, Abidal; Xavi, Toure, Deco, Messi, Henry, Iniesta.
My prediction: Barça 4 Zaragoza 2
