Barcelona 84 Real Madrid 65

December 29th, 2007 by Nic · 2 Comments

Barça’s basketball team got some revenge for the football team’s defeat by beating Real Madrid 84-65 tonight in the Palau Blaugrana. The win took Barça level on 11 wins with Joventut, Bilbao and Madrid at the top of the Spanish national basketball league (Liga ACB). It is Barça’s second win out of two meetings with Madrid this season, having already beaten them in the Euroliga back in November. Barça’s best player tonight was the Italian Gianluca Basile who scored 23 points.

Helo nic once again i’m happy to see at least some madrid geting their ass kicked, but im commenting on a different reason i saw the nufcblog.com site and was interested and a bit entertained (not that this blog is the opposite) simply by the amount of responses an article on their site has, i saw a article get 62!!!comments and thats just average.

This is a fantastic blog the best on the net about all things barca, but it will be marvelous with more people commenting makes it interesting to see what the fans feel and think, Is it because there is a significant lack of english speaking barca supporters?, or just people don’t know about the site i always refer any barca fan i meet in chatrooms or the net to this site just to increase the amount comments or point of views from the fans.

Further more i would realy like to see barca pick up a decent physical defensive midfielder and a pacy right back in january,The latter being a problem position for barca so far ,while the former will cover for toure yaya’s absence to the AFCON. I don’t think edmilson will be reliable for us as he is slow and long term injuries has put him in the back foot and he is’nt getting any younger,

Hi Blaugrana. Of course I too would love to have more comments but the blog is still quite new and it has been picking up over the last couple of months. It seems the British blogs have a big advantage at the moment, when Barça played Rangers there were loads of Rangers fans coming here and the same after drawing Celtic in the Champions League. I could have done this blog in Spanish but my hope is to make it a blog for fans from round the world and English is my native tongue. I have long term plans so who knows how things will be in two, five, ten years ahead, I am sure there are thousands if not millions of Barça fans who speak English, it is just a matter of getting to them. Thanks for passing the word on to other Barça fans, if everyone can get another one or two people interested the site will grow and grow. Posting links on football forums to fcbnews articles is always very helpful.
