The city of Barcelona is organizing a meeting point for Celtic fans near the fountains on Montjuic close to Plaça Espanya. According to the organisers there will be bars and food stalls, football “activities”, a giant TV screen showing football, as well as luggage lockers. This is an obvious attempt to avoid the scenes caused by Rangers fans last October. I just hope they remember to provide some portaloos. For more information visit the club’s official website.

It’s about a mile and a half from the Ramblas but you can do it by Metro fairly quickly. There is a metro station (Espanya) at Plaça d’Espanya which is on both the red line and the green line which both take you to the centre of town.

think the portaloo comment is a bit unfair.
We after all took 100,000 fans to seville without incident and won both the Fifa and Uefa fairplay awards.
I’ll be in Cincsentits anyway followed by a little brandy at Dry Martini.
It was a pleasure to watch Barcelona playing the other night at Celtic Park.

Best of luck for the second leg surprise: 2-3, Celtic go through after penalties!
