FC Barcelona have announced they will play a friendly match on August 15th against Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena in Munich. The match which kicks off at 6pm, is a testamonial for Bayern player Mehmet Scholl who is retiring. The game takes place just ten days before the start of the new Spanish league season, so Barça, who arrive back from their Asian tour on August 11th, will be putting the finishing touches to the new team. Barça and Bayern last met in last summer’s Joan Gamper trophy with Barça winning 4-0 with goals from Ronaldinho, Eto’o (2) and Saviola.
Bayern have made some big signings this summer including Miroslav Klose, Ze Roberto, Franck Ribery and Luca Toni. Barça will also come up against their ex-player, Mark van Bommel.
