Barça fly out tomorrow to Scotland where they will play their first two games of their pre-season friendlies. Eidur Gudjohnsen is not expected to travel after suffering a recurrence to the knee injury that saw him miss the last league game of last season.

This morning at 9.30, the first team squad began their first training session of the new season. The only absentees were Leo Messi, Rafa Marquez and Gabi Milito who have extended holidays due to playing the Copa America, and Carlos Puyol and Jose Edmilson who are both out injured.

FC Barcelona have announced they will play a friendly match on August 15th against Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena in Munich. The match which kicks off at 6pm, is a testamonial for Bayern player Mehmet Scholl who is retiring.
