Alves Wins Appeal And Will Face Barça

Not the best news for Barça today as the yellow card that Dani Alves received in Sevilla’s win at Recreativo has been overturned by our friends at the Real Federación Española de Fútbol. The card would have meant Alves missing Saturday’s clash with Barça; however, Sevilla’s appeal was successful.

The LFP have announced the kick off times for next weekend’s games. Barça will play Sevilla in the Sanchez Pizjuan on Saturday 9th and the game will kick off at 10pm. This game will be shown live on Spanish TV on the La Sexta channel and on TV3 in Catalunya.

Barça-Villarreal Preview: Ronaldinho Returns

Frank Rijkaard has named his sixteen-man squad for tomorrow night’s Copa del Rey return match with Villarreal (kick off 10pm) and there is a return for Ronaldinho as well as for Rafa Marquez. Edmilson, Gudjohnsen, Oleguer and Sylvinho have all been left out for technical reasons.

A day later than usual, the LFP have announced the kick off times for next weekend’s games. Barça will play hosts to Osasuna on Sunday and the game will kick off at 7pm. Remember that the return game with Villarreal in the Copa Del Rey is on Thursday 31st January and kicks off at 10pm.

Barça-Racing Santander Preview

There is a return to the squad for Leo Messi and Oleguer Presas, while new signing Jose Manuel Pinto will start his first match on the bench as Victor Valdés’s understudy. Frank Rijkaard has stated that Messi is not ready to play 90 minutes so the Argentinian will most likely start as a substitute.
