With just under 48 hours to go before the big match I thought I’d take a look at some of the recent games between the two clubs at Camp Nou. Having come to live in Barcelona in 1989 I soon became used to Barça winning this fixture. Apart from a 1-1 draw in the 91/92 season […]

Countdown To Barça-Madrid: Three Days To Go
December 20th, 2007 by Nic · 4 Comments
Barça go into Sunday’s clasico on an unbeaten run of seven games, having lost their last game on November 10th at Getafe. The performance at Getafe was quite awful and there were many suggestions that only a complete change in the management structure could save Barça, Jose Mourinho’s name was mentioned as the only one […]

Countdown To Barça-Madrid: Five Days To Go
December 18th, 2007 by Nic · 3 Comments
Not a great deal of news today except the usual nonsense of who said what about the big game, so I thought I’d take a look at the opposition (or should I say enemy). Of course, some Culés will say that all Real Madrid players are rubbish and that Barça will win easily, but if Madrid […]

December 15th, 2007 by Nic · 3 Comments
Apologies to anyone looking for the match report to tonight’s match, I usually try to get a report done an hour/an hour and a half after the final whistle. Unfortunately, this week the report will be late due to what is left of my social life (yeah, parties - what a drag, eh?). I have […]

Barça Still The Bookies Favourite
December 6th, 2007 by Nic · 1 Comment
Despite being four points behind rivals Real Madrid, Barça are still the bookmakers favourite to win this season’s league title. The latest odds for Barça are a miserly 11/10 while you can still get 13/10 on Madrid winning. While I would never question the wisdom of the bookmaker I must say I am slightly surprised […]
