Johan Cruyff is set to make a surprise move back to Ajax where he will take a role as a type of technical assessor, responsible for organizing the internal structure of the club. Cruyff, who is 60, will return to the club where he played from 1964-1973 and 1981-1983, he was also coach for Ajax from 1986-1988. It is being rumoured in Holland that Marco Van Basten will return as Ajax coach when he finishes his contract with the Dutch national team in the summer. This would of course reduce Van Basten’s chances of taking over at Barça if Rijkaard is given the boot at the end of the season.
I’ve never understood how there are some Barça fans who dislike Cruyff, there are several messages in the comments sections of the Catalan press saying good riddance that now Cruyff won’t be able to stick his nose in at Barça. I’m sure that Cruyff will still offer his point of view about things at Camp Nou whenever he is asked. Personally, I always find his opinions to be insightful, intelligent and interesting.
Good luck at Ajax, Johan.

It’s not a real surprise move since he kind of announced he was available on Monday. But who would have thought he would ever again take up this kind of responsability?
On the Cruijff (this is actually the correct spelling) bashing: I think it’s more Laporta bashing, they try to hit Laporta through (his friend and “advisor”) Cruijff. But whatever it is, it makes no sense cause he’s a Barcelona legend and you shouldn’t cheaply bash your legends (same thing goes for Ronaldinho).
My blog had this news before any other non-Dutch site, by the way. Eat your heart out, goal.com

Pep, I agree the Cruyff (generally accepted spelling in English and Spanish
)bashing probably has some weird politics behind it, but it was going on a long time before Laporta became president.
Beating Goal.com to a story is not so difficult, I’m still laughing at how than ran the Puyol skinhead story as true

Niek (generally accepted spelling in swahili and malaysian), here we say “high trees catch a lot of wind”. Through all the years he has been in and around the club, I can imagine he made some enemies. I just can’t understand that kind of behaviour, it’s really personal and you don’t serve your club.
Ok, but they didn’t know it was foul’s day, so I don’t really blame them for that one. We could mention other ones… This one was a true story. One good lesson for the kids: watch your languages!

My blog link was wrong by the way. My god, some freaks already picked the wrong one up and made it some advertisement site. Crazy, crazy world….
On topic: guess the speculations now will also start all over whether Johan (generally accpeted spelling all around the world
) will come back in some official barcelona function (once he restructured Ajax). Guess some candidates for the 2010 presidential race are considering right now to offer him Txiki’s job

Hey. I’m new to this blog, but I already like it as an addition to sport, el mundo deportivo and all the other sites.
I just want to grab this chance to point you in the direction of some candy from Hristo.
In Sport on 19. february, he calls Real Madrid a team of losers. Great personality that Hristo.

He already left Ajax :p He & van Basten couldn’t agree (w.o.w: van Basten told Cruijff to stfu and let him do his own stuff without Cruijff bashing his ideas)
