Edmilson’s Injury Confirmed

January 10th, 2008 by Nic · 2 Comments

After undergoing a scan this morning it was confirmed that Jose Edmilson has a torn adductor muscle in his left thigh. However, doctors were cautious as to how long he will be out, preferring to wait to see how the injury evolves in the next few days.

This is a blow to Edmilson and to Barça. Edmilson had only just returned to playing after a six month absense due to a knee injury, and he was looking to fill in for Toure Yaya who is away preparing to play in the African Cup with Ivory Coast. Frank Rijkaard will now have to choose between Rafa Marquez and Andres Iniesta to play in the defensive midfield role.

Things are just getting worse.. I think Rafa could suit the defensive role..

Isn’t that a picture of Sylvinho?

lol I would agree with the thought of the picture being Slyvinho on the shirt you can see a letter “E” who probably means Edmilson but well spotted :)

Shame about Edmilson he played very well against Sevilla and nearly won the game but more importantly it looked like Toure would not be missed as much as first thought.

    Get well soon Eddy !
