It wasn’t to be for Samuel Eto’o and Cameroon who lost 1-0 to Egypt in the African Cup Of Nations final today in Accra. Egypt were deserved winners and scored the only goal of the game when Abou Trika made the most of a dreadful defensive mistake by Rigobert Song. Eto’o only had a couple of half chances in the first half and ended the game holding the back of his leg with an obvious injury. Hopefully it is nothing serious, but with our record for injuries at the moment he will probably have to miss two months.

I am Egyptian as well. I cant tell you guys how crazy the streets are. We bought gas and in one huge main street they made the number 22 ( Abo Traika’s number the one the scored the goal) and then lighten it up. I am sure more crazy things are being done for as every single human is in the street with a flag Saying ” We Won”. Its really ONE WILD NIGHT HERE. Hard Luck Cameroon.

Thanks Joe for the account. We’d all like to hear any more stories from Egypt.
Dr Olmo - It is still early to say but Eto’o’s agent has said it is not important. They will have to do tests.
