Ex-Barcelona president Jose Luis Nuñez Clemente is one of fourteen people who have been accused of corruption. Nuñez was allegedly involved in bribery and falsifying official documents in a case involving tax inspectors and businessmen in 1999. If found guilty Nuñez could be sent down for up to eight years and two months.
While I would never suspect Señor Nuñez of being involved in such dealings, one has to wonder whether there any honest football presidents and directers out there. There are certainly a few dodgy characters around. Of course, don’t expect any names from me (I can’t afford the lawyers).
