Fans Prefer Bojan To Henry

April 23rd, 2008 by Nic · 10 Comments

Fcbnews readers have voted overwhelmingly in favour of keeping Bojan Krkic in the team at the expense of Thierry Henry. When asked who should be dropped to make way for Leo Messi, 67% voted for Henry. Which means the preferred front three at the moment is Messi-Eto’o-Bojan. Of course for tonight’s game some might prefer to put Iniesta forward for a more solid look.

The new poll is on whether Frank Rijkaard should rest players for Saturday’s game at Deportivo. Barça still need to fight for second place in the league, but the only chance of a trophy is in the Champions League. Of course if Barça get thrashed tonight I imagine I will remove this poll pretty quickly.

At first I was hesitant about Iniesta up front. He barely saw the ball in majority of the first half. Not taking any credit from the pale faced maestro because he eventually got into the game and totally dominated in the second half. Absolutely embarassing hargreaves spinning him around like a top.

Deco surprised me. He really did deserve a standing ovation from the crowd.

Then again Iniesta can play anywhere. He is that versatile. What a quality player.

I am a big fan of Deco’s, but this season I have been so disappointed. I was surprised when he was given the start today, but, in the end, he redeemed himself. He played cannily and resourcefully.

Also, I thought Toure shook off his back-injury malaise and had an excellent game. Zambrotta also deserves to be mentioned: some great stuff from him.

On the whole, I was proud to call myself a Barça supporter today. Of course, a goal would have been priceless, but not a bad result given the doomsday predictions of many…

I think Henry is very useful against British team.

I want to break Cronaldo’s face. Thought I’d let you all know.

Poor old Thierry. He is one of the very greatest players to have graced the game, but time seems to be catching up with him. Perhaps he can regain some of his va va voom soon, but it’s looking unlikely that it will happen in Barcelona.

Shame, as on fire he’s nothing short of sensational.

    Not bad.

Barca need that killer instinct, Ronaldinho would be so effective here if he played like he did against Celtic.
