Henry Could Miss El Clasico

December 3rd, 2007 by Nic · 3 Comments

Thierry Henry’s back problems could mean he misses the big clash with Real Madrid the weekend before christmas. According to the club webpage, Henry is suffering from discopathy in his spine in the vertebrae L5-S1. This is a dehydration of the intervertebral disc which is apparently linked to a genetic problem.  Henry has often suffered back and pelvic problems over the last few years and missed a lot of last season due to this. He will receive special treatment and doctors estimate he will be out for 15 days. However, with this type of injury I reckon anyone’s guess is as good as the doctors and I wouldn’t be surprised if the injury drags on into the new year.

It is a shame that just as Samuel Eto’o gets fit Henry finds himself injured. I was intrigued to see how Frank Rijkaard would juggle his big stars and who would end up on the subs bench. So much for the four “fantasticos”. At least Bojan should get more minutes now.

I agree I think Ronnie even with his improving performances would have found himself on the bench with Eto’o and Henry up front with Messi just behind or more deeper on the wing.

Espanyol was a one off. A team oozing confidence and who thought they would give Barca a go. Most teams just defend all game and Barca NEED Eto’o and more importantly a 4-4-2 formation

Too bad Henry, Hopefully u can be back soon.
But luckily we have got back Eto’o.
Real Madrid better watch out because this is not an away game and Barca perform well at home and hopefully it carries into the ‘el clasico’.

Come on boys show these over achievers what we are made of!!!!!!!!!!
