FC Barcelona and Zaragoza are close to an agreement for the transfer of Argentinian central defender, Gabi Milito. Barça have agreed terms with Milito and will now have to decide whether to raise their offer of €18 million to meet Zaragoza’s asking price of €20 million. Negotiations could continue over the weekend, but Barça want to resolve things as quickly as possible. Roma’s Cristian Chivu has still not signed for anyone, and he could still be an alternative if Barça and Zaragoza don’t arrive to an agreement.

In the Copa America, Leo Messi came on as a sub for the last 25 minutes of Argentina’s 1-0 win over Paraguay.
