Levante-Barça Preview

September 28th, 2007 by Nic · No Comments

Carles Puyol returns to the squad after a three month absence but there is no place in the list for Ronaldinho. Zambrotta is out for a month and Rafa Marquez has not recovered in time and will not travel. There is also a return to the squad for Marc Crosas and Eidur Gudjohnsen who will be hoping for their first chance this season.Levante are currently bottom of the table with just one point from a 0-0 draw at home to Murcia. On Wednesday night they were comprehensively beaten 4-1 by Osasuna. This is a great chance for Barça to earn their first away win of the season, and it will be interesting to see if they can transfer their excellent form at Camp Nou to another pitch. So far this season Barça have had two disappointing 0-0 draws on their travels. Let’s hope the return of Captain Puyol will inspire them to victory.

Barça’s squad for the game: Valdés, Jorquera, Oleguer, Puyol, Thuram, Milito, Abidal, Sylvinho, Toure, Xavi, Deco, Crosas, Iniesta, Messi, Henry, Giovani, Gudjohnsen and Bojan.

Possible starting eleven: Valdés; Oleguer, Puyol, Milito, Abidal; Xavi, Toure, Deco; Messi, Henry, Iniesta.

My prediction: Levante 0 Barça 3

Kick off time is 10pm Spanish time. The game will be shown live on TV3 and La Sexta.
