Maxi Lopez Takes Aim

June 14th, 2007 by Nic · No Comments

Maxi Lopez, Barça’s Argentine forward on loan to Mallorca, will be hoping he can play his part in winning the title for Barça. Mallorca’s players are not happy that Madrid president Ramón Calderon celebrated his team’s 2-2 draw with Zaragoza on the pitch as if Madrid had already been crowned as champions. Madrid still need to beat Mallorca to be sure of winning the league. “We’ll see what face Calderon has after the match,” said Maxi, and he added, “You can’t underestimate us”.

Maxi is especially motivated, not only to do his old team-mates a favour, “I’d love to take part in a victory over Madrid, as a personal challenge. We’re going to be playing in a full stadium with everybody against us, and that motivates us. If on top of that I can do a favour to other teams, then all the better. So for us our aim will be to take a point.”

It would be brilliant to see Maxi doing his chicken dance after scoring the goal that gives Barça the title. Go Maxi go!
