Leo Messi was the star of a 4-3 win for Argentina against Algeria last night in a match played at Barcelona’s Camp Nou. Messi scored twice, once from the penalty spot, and also hit the post.
Ronaldinho played only the second half in a dull 0-0 draw between Brazil and Turkey played in Dortmund, Edmilson, who was captain for the Brazilians, played 81 minutes. Both players are suspended for Saturday’s game with Espanyol.
Meanwhile, 16-year old Bojan Krkic played his first game for Spain’s under-21 team, coming on as a sub after 66 minutes against Georgia. This ensures that Bojan’s international career will be for Spain and not for Serbia.
