Gabi Milito has been officially presented this lunchtime as Barcelona fourth signing of the summer. Milito expressed his delight at signing “Today is a dream come true, joining this team, one of the best, if not the best in the world.”

He avoided comparisons with Carles Puyol, “I don’t know if we are similar players, but it is going to be an honour to be in the same team as him. He is one of the best defenders in the world.”

Milito has cost Barça €17 million and they will pay Zaragoza a furthur €3.5 million for titles won. His get-out clause has been set at €90 million and the contract is for four years. Milito will wear the number 12 shirt previously worn by Giovanni van Bronkhorst.
