The Liga de Fútbol Profesional (LFP) have decreed that next season will begin on the weekend of 25/26th August and due to the Eurocopa in Austria and Switzerland, will finish on 18th May. There will be no league fixtures because of international games on the weekends 8/9th Sept, 13/14th Oct and 17/18th Nov. There will however be midweek league games on the 26th Sept, 31st Oct and 7th May. Teams will also have to play the weekend before Christmas, 22/23rd Dec.
The final of the Copa del Rey has been fixed for 16th April. The Spanish Supercopa will be played between League Champions and Cup Winners over two legs on the 12th and 18th of August.
