Oleguer Out For Six Weeks

February 10th, 2008 by Nic · 10 Comments

Oleguer Presas will be out of action for six weeks after X-rays confirmed an oblique fracture of the third metacarpal bone in his left hand. I understand this is the second bone of his middle finger but I’m no anatomist. Apparantly Oleguer received the injury in the first half, and perhaps this might help to explain his poor performance. I suffered a similar injury a few years ago and can assure you that it was quite painful and left me feeling faint. Oleguer deserves credit for playing on. Then again, Bert Trautmann played on with a broken neck so who am I to talk. What I do find strange is that he will be out for six weeks. With a hand injury!? I know a lot of fans may say this is the best news we’ve had today, but with the injuries to Puyol and Zambrotta we need all the cover we can get. Thierry Henry was also injured, a problem with the hip apparently. But first reports say he should be ok for next Saturday’s game at Zaragoza. We are going to need him now because Eto’o’s injury didn’t look good. More on the injured when I get it.

    well 8 points behind, madrid just demolished valladolid. Without doubt, Real just look divine at the moment. 7-0 WOW…. just incredible. Felt sad seeing both real and barca play and was more embarrassed to compare the two super powers of Spain

    Touré should be back. Bojan and Sylvinho will be back too. Doesn’t look good for Eto’o. Why the hell he played on?

    @Nitin:

    You can’t compare those two games: Sevilla away and Valladolid at home. Guess the result of Sevilla-Madrid earlier this season. Last week Madrid lost 2-0 against Almeria. How divine… Don’t judge only taking into account one game, take a broader perspective.

    and pep…. when was the last time we won 7-0, hell nething more than 3 goals in a match????? U speak abt bigger perspective, schuster had just taken charge at that time when Sevilla defeated Madrid, im not supporting real, just proving my point…..

    Yeah, just proving how divine a team is playing when seven days ago you lost 2-0 against Almeria… Just taking charge, it was in November… And I don’t say we’re playing well, I only say Madrid isn’t playing “divine” this season (for now).
