Barça-Sevilla Preview: Deco Returns

Anderson Luis de Souza, better known as Deco, returns to the squad for tomorrow night’s second leg Copa Del Rey game with Sevilla (kick off 9pm local time). As usual for Cup games Frank Rijkaard has named a 16-man squad, so there is no place for Saturday’s debutante Pedrito. The players trained this evening and will spend the night at a hotel to prepare the game, as they usually do for important Champions League games. Keep reading →

Tree Falls On Ronaldinho

Crosas Loan Deal Confirmed

As expected Marc Crosas has signed a loan deal with Lyon until the end of the season. Before leaving Crosas admitted that he didn’t speak French. From Fcbnews, I’d like to wish him bonne chance and let’s hope he improves in order to return to Camp Nou this summer.

Barça-Murcia Preview

Frank Rijkaard has only 17 players fit for tomorrow evening’s match against Murcia in Camp Nou (kick off 8pm local time). Leo Messi is not expected back for another week, and Deco and Ronaldinho are still suffering from niggling injuries. With Toure Yaya preparing for the African Cup of Nations and Jose Edmilson injured again, Rijkaard will have to choose between Marquez and Iniesta to play in the defensive midfield role. Barça-Racing Sunday 20th January Kick Off 9pm

According to the club webpage, next weekend’s league game with Racing Santander will take place on Sunday 20th with the kick off at 9pm local time. The game will be shown live in Spain on Canal+. Marc Crosas To Sign On Loan To Lyon

Marc Crosas flew to Lyon today to finalize a deal which will see him loaned to the French club until June. With the deal more or less agreed it will just depend on Crosas passing the medical. Originally, Real Sociedad were favourites to sign the midfielder, but they wanted an option to buy him at the end of the season that Barça were not prepared to agree on. Keep reading →

Edmilson’s Injury Confirmed

After undergoing a scan this morning it was confirmed that Jose Edmilson has a torn adductor muscle in his left thigh. However, doctors were cautious as to how long he will be out, preferring to wait to see how the injury evolves in the next few days. Keep reading →

Sevilla 1 Barça 1

Barça earned a valuable 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Copa del Rey tie with Sevilla tonight in the Sanchez Pizjuan. Thierry Henry, who is beginning to look like the striker Barça hoped for, scored the opener after 24 minutes, but poor defending at a corner just before half time allowed Capel the space to equalize.
