With the winter transfer window approaching, the stories of offers for Ronaldinho are appearing regularly in the press. Ronnie’s chief suitors are once again AC Milan and Chelsea, and the bids are supposed to be in the region of €60million. The irregular form of the Brazilian has sparked a debate within the club as to whether it might now be the time to thank Ronnie for his time at the club and take the money. Keep reading →

The choice was more difficult this month. There were only five games played and it is hard to forget how badly the team played against Villarreal. However, the October award goes to Carles Puyol, mainly for his fine performances in the Champions League at Stuttgart where he scored and at Rangers where he filled in superbly at right back. Thierry Henry scored his first league goal at Camp Nou to put Barça on the road to a 2-0 win over Almeria. Leo Messi who was kept on the substitutes bench, came on with fifteen minutes to go and converted a controversial penalty after Giovani dos Santos went down in the penalty area. Keep reading →

Leo Messi could be rested for Sunday’s match with Almeria as a precaution. Messi has a slight muscle strain but will almost certainly be named in the squad for the game. However, unless he is 100% fit, Rijkaard may decide it is better not to take the risk of causing a more serious injury. Keep reading →

Good news for Barça as it seems that Toure Yaya will be fit for this Sunday’s game against Almeria. Gianluca Zambrotta could also be included in the squad. With Deco out injured Toure is a vital piece to bring a balance to the midfield. Rafa Marquez is close to returning but it is more likely he will be back for the game at Valladolid on November 1st.
Samuel Eto’o has started running this week and next week he should start training with the ball. However, he is not likely to be back in the team until the home game with Recreativo on November 25th at the earliest.
