Barça 3 Athletic 1

Barca-Athletic Preview

Giovani dos Santos and Gabi Milito are the new names on the list for tomorrow’s game against Athletic Bilbao. Giovani will almost certainly start on the bench, but after his superb pre-season Frank Rijkaard may well decide to use him in the second half. Milito could be given his first start in a Barça shirt but it’s anyone’s guess as to which two from Milito, Thuram, Oleguer and Marquez will play as the central defence pairing. Keep reading →

Barça’s Shirt Numbers

With the closing of the transfer deadline last night Barça have confirmed this season’s shirt numbers. In the end Gabi Milito will wear the number 3 shirt vacated by the departing Thiaggo Motta. Giovani dos Santos has been given number 17 while Bojan Krkic who will continue to play for the second team this season when not needed by Rijkaard, will wear number 27. Keep reading →

Motta Agrees Terms With Atletico

Eto’o Out For Two Months

The injury that Samuel Eto’o suffered in last night’s game against Inter Milan is more serious than it seemed at first. He has torn a tendon in his right thigh and is expected to be out for a minimum of eight weeks. Club doctors declared in a statement that Eto’o has a “partial tear of the tendon in the rear of his right thigh”. Keep reading →
