RIP Antonio Puerta

August 28th, 2007 by Nic · 1 Comment

Sevilla’s defender Antonio Puerta died today in hospital. He suffered a heart attack during the first half of Sevilla’s 4-1 win over Getafe on Saturday, but despite being resuscitated by the Sevilla medical team he collapsed again in the dressing room. It’s a terribly tragic way for the new season to begin. He was 22 years old.

(First, about Barça and Rijkaard mistakes:
The problem is the heritage of the same past year defects. Of course, we need to calm down, but Barça have not spirit.)

I am very moved by the death of Puerta. It’s terrible. Perhaps, we have felt this end more deeper than other sad situations because all the people have seen in television the last moments of the life of the player (before his arriving to the hospital).
I have heard a doctor in the radio who was speaking about these problems of the heart. It is very difficult (perhaps, impossible) to detect them on a test result. And he explained too that there are more problems with this fast death before 35 years. Yes, because in these cases they are genetic diseases and its concrete position isn’t clear. When people is 35 or 40 years old, the test is more easy because actually it’s not a genetic problem; so it’s a question linked with age, stress, style of life, food, etc.
