With there being no league games this weekend the media have to fill their papers with rumours of who is going to buy who this summer. The following is a list of some players who have recently been linked to Barça. Defenders: Dani Alves (Sevilla), Gabi Milito (Zaragoza), Eric Abidal (Olympique Lyonnais) Midfielders: Yaya Touré (Monaco), Xabi Alonso (Liverpool), Daniele De Rossi (Roma), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Forwards: Diego Milito (Zaragoza) Arjen Robben (Chelsea), Rodrigo Palacio (Boca Juniors), Roy Makaay (Bayern Munich), Miroslav Klose (Werder Bremen), Diego Forlán (Villarreal) and Thierry Henry (Arsenal).

The one who seems closest to signing is Eric Abidal who has apparently agreed personal terms and Barça are now negotiating a fee with Olympique.

The most ridiculous story seems to have begun on SkySports who claimed that Madrid based paper Marca had run a report saying Barça were prepared to offer Samuel Eto’o plus 17million pounds for Thierry Henry. However, I can’t find the story anywhere on Marca’s website and it seems the whole thing was invented by Sky, but if anyone has a link to Marca’s story, I’d be happy to rectify.
