Toure Doubtful For Weekend

March 7th, 2008 by Nic · 5 Comments

Toure Yaya is doubtful for Sunday’s game against Villarreal after pulling out of today’s training session with back problems. Toure was left out of last week’s game at Atletico Madrid with similar problems but managed 67 minutes of the game against Celtic before being substituted. The club, however, have not ruled him out completely for the game.

On the other hand Rafa Marquez has definitely been ruled out for Sunday with his foot problem. This means the only true centre backs available are Milito and Thuram. If Toure doesn’t recover we could see Edmilson return to the team, or Rijkaard might opt for the three pequeños Deco, Iniesta and Xavi in midfield.

If players continue to disappear like that then by sunday we will have 2 or 3 players from the first team.

Oh great!! What is it with all these injuries!?!?! This cannot be normal. I just pray that Edmilson does not play!! His last performance made me feel sick and against Villareal we are going to need a solid defensive mid to cover an already weakened backline.

    What daz pequeños mean?

Blaugrana - pequeños means “little ones” or “small ones” the Spanish press say “Los tres pequeños” (the three little guys) to describe Deco, Xavi and Iniesta when they play together.
