Barcelona doctors have confirmed that Toure Yaya has suffered a tear to the femoral biceps muscle in his left leg. This is the muscle at the back of the thigh. He will be out of action for one month. Toure was injured five minutes from the end of last night’s game against Levante and had to come off leaving Barça with ten men for the remainder of the match. Frank Rijkaard will now have to choose a replacement for Toure who had started the season so well in the defensive midfield position. Rijkaard could play Rafa Marquez in this position or move Iniesta back into midfield alongside Xavi and Deco.
Also injured yesterday was Gabi Milito, but he has not yet been ruled out of Tuesday’s game with Stuttgart in the Champions League.
