Less than a week after winning Valencia’s first trophy in four years, ex-Barça hero Ronald Koeman has been sacked as Valencia coach. Jose Maria Bakero who was working as Koeman’s assistant has also been asked to leave. This was always going to be a difficult job for Koeman but it has to be said that Valencia’s league form was disastrous. When Koeman took over from Quique Flores at the end of October, the team were in fourth place. Today they are just two points above the relegation zone.

Hey you never know … he could replace Rijkaard…. With Laporta making decisions nothing would surprise me.. I mean he understands how Barca play.. !!!

Look at the state of valencia though … their league form is awful.
how is that squad sitting so far down the table. They have some great players ..
I wonder if they will go down .. they have some difficult games ahead.

@John, replace rijkaard? :S Koeman is one of the most awful coaches I know. At Ajax and PSV, he did nothing but use and take advantage of the things the previous coach did. I’m too young to remember what hero-thingies he did for Barça, but believe me when I say he sucks as a coach. Let his team down, and ran to Valencia. Pff, that guy thinks he’s god or something like that, if you ever heared him speak on Dutch tv. I’m sorry Ronaldje, but this train just crashed. And god, I’m happy with that.
