In Barcelona this week, there seem to be only two points of view regarding the final day in La Liga. Those who believe that Real Madrid are already champions, that their game against Mallorca is a forgone conclusion, and that Barça need to sell all their players if they are going to do anything at all next season. On the other hand there are the optimists, probably fewer in number, who believe that Mallorca will play the game of their lives, that Madrid won’t be able to handle the pressure, and that Maxi Lopez is destined to score at least twice.

What is worrying me is that nobody is talking about Nástic-Barça. I know they are bottom of the league and have already been relegated, but it doesn’t follow that they have nothing to play for. If I was a Nástic player I’m sure I would relish the chance of beating Barça. None of their players know whether they will ever play in such an important match again in their lives. It must feel like a tremendous challenge to those players to give their supporters something to crow about for years to come.

I hope the Barça players realise it won’t be easy and go out to give it everything. Nothing could be worse than Mallorca getting a draw in the Bernabéu if Barça fail to beat Nástic.
